Why choose this course?
This course provides you with theoretical knowledge and practical experience needed to register as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Our academic team includes Dr Jim Richardson, an editor of the widely-used Textbook of Children's and Young People's Nursing, and Dr Jayne Price, lead editor of Palliative Care for Children and Families, which is a key text in child healthcare. Our lecturers receive national and international awards for their excellence in learning and teaching. Within our state-of-the-art simulation suites, our children's nursing students can further develop the skills required to care for children and families in a safe environment, which closely mimics a health care environment (hospital and home). Child and family role-players are central to this learning experience You will have the opportunity to take a national or international elective placement at the end of your second year.
