DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM
The Dual Enrollment program provides the opportunity for qualified Boston high school students to take college-level courses free of charge, simultaneously earning credit toward high school completion and credit towards future college degrees. Classes include, but are not limited, to Math, Science, Management and Computer Science. The University will provide all required materials for the courses. Students will be asked to attend an orientation session in August before beginning their chosen course on September 5th.
Dual Enrollment Eligibility, Deadlines and Expectations
Students’ obligation is to complete the required courses needed to graduate from their high school. By enrolling in a Dual Enrollment course, students are taking on the responsibility of needing to complete their University course to fulfill graduation requirements at their high school. Taking courses at the Institute of Technology is a privilege that must be earned. Listed below are the eligibility requirements set forth in order to allow students to apply for Dual Enrollment status.
Application Requirements
In order to apply students must have/include the following:
- Completed application form
- A preferred weighted cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above.
- High school transcript (please have ready to upload to this form)
- A teacher recommendation form (you should have had your teacher complete this to upload to this form)
- Signed permission from a parent or legal guardian (upon submission of this form, your guardian will receive an email to electronically sign this form as permission)
- Contact information (email and phone numbers) that is regularly accessed
Deadlines
For Fall 2017 Enrollment (seniors and juniors), students must submit the completed application and Student Statement by June 2nd. Teacher’s recommendation form must be submitted by this date as well.
Courses are not guaranteed until the Institute of Technology officially registers the student. Students will be notified of finalized course selection in July or August once registration closes for traditional University students. In their application students should include contact information that they check regularly as University staff will be in contact to fully enroll students in their courses.
